A listing for Far Cry 6 has shown up on the PlayStation Store in Hong Kong. The page, which appeared earlier today and is still live at time of writing, lists a February 2021 release date, and features Breaking Bad actor Giancarlo Esposito on its cover art.
A translated version of the page grants a brief synopsis of the game. It's set in Yala, "a tropical paradise whose time has been frozen." Run by dictator Anton Castileroux, the fictional country boasts jungle, beach, and a capital city, which players will fight over as part of a guerilla resistance to the dictator and his son. The page also confirms Smart Delivery from PS4 to PS5.
Esposito recently mentioned that he was involved in a large videogame project. While he was unable to offer more information, some suggestions included a new Far Cry title, which is well known for its charismatic central antagonists. So far, this seems pretty legit, but we're likely to find out more at the Ubisoft Forward event on July 12.
