Riot Rolls Out Social Impact Fund for Coronavirus Relief

Riot Games is adding a series of League of Legends products to its Social Impact Fund to aid in coronavirus relief efforts. In addition to money that the developer has already raised, proceeds from three in-game cosmetics and related items will be donated over the next few weeks.

The scheme is based around a series of medicine-themed skins, depicting in-game characters Shen, Akali, and Kennen, as a surgeon, a nurse, and a doctor. Other items include relevant emotes, icons, and other add-ons, all of which stick to the central healthcare theme.

The Social Impact Fund was unveiled last year as part of an attempt to allow Riot to scale up its charitable efforts and have more of an impact in players' local areas. So far, Riot has donated more than £3.6 million to the pandemic relief effort, while a 48-hour stream raised a further £500,000.
