Kojima Productions announced today that Death Stranding will arrive on PC, on both Steam and the Epic Games Store, on June 2 2020. The title will be published by 505 Games, and as well as digital will be recieving a physical release. It also comes with a rather fetching headcrab hat for Sam. Here's a short trailer.
There don't seem to be any substantial additions or changes to the game, beyond the upgrades in frame rate and so on you'd expect in any PC version. There are however a bunch of new cosmetics thrown in for anyone who buys the game, and even more for those who pre-order. Full details are in this blogpost but the highlights include fancy sunglasses and an expanded edition of the original score.
Say what you like about Death Stranding, but there isn't much like it (here's our review). Kojima's melancholic take on our species' future is by turns astounding and dull, filled with moments of quiet beauty and, at times, utter weirdness. Some think it's the world's best dad game, while others regard it as a classic western in disguise. Whatever the truth it's at the very least a stunning audiovisual experience, and humping up those hills with more horsepower will be a treat.
