The Sonic the Hedgehog movie is just around the corner, and while we're along way from that horrifying original design, Paramount still has a few surprises for us. Most notably, those involve the film's theme song, which features a number of notable artists converted into questionable pixel art.
The song, entitled Speed Me Up, is a collaboration between Wiz Khalifa, Ty Dolla $ign, Lil Yachty, and Sueco the Child. That means that I've actually heard of 50 per cent of the song's performers, but also that an awful lot of joint time has gone into its creation.
The song itself isn't to my taste, but it's catchy enough. What's really drawn my attention, however, is the video, which sees all four performers transformed into pixel art renditions of themselves, before joining Sonic in key scenes from the movie. That's all well and good on its own, but all four appear to be able to match Sonic for speed, with Wiz himself managing to run down the side of a skyscraper. I'm all for super-fast blue hedgehogs, but I draw the line at rappers running around with reckless disregard for the laws of gravity.
