Rogue One Screenwriter Wants to Make a Star Fox Movie

The writer of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story says that he wants to make a film based on the Star Fox franchise. Gary Whitta, who has also written for Gears of War, Prey, and Telltale's The Walking Dead series, tweeted about the series last night.

Last week, God of War art director Raf Grassetti tweeted a collection of character redesigns of Star Fox's major players. As well as Fox and Wolf, Falco, Slippy Toad, and Peppy Hare all sport new looks somewhat reminiscent of the designs from Detective Pikachu and the upcoming Sonic the Hedgehog.

Whitta took to Twitta with this clear statement of intent, and I can imagine a Star Fox movie actually being pretty good, but the chances of getting it made not quite so good. Still, stranger things have happened - if Cats can get made, I reckon basically anything can.
