Hidetaka Miyazaki Says He's "Not the One to Decide" on a Bloodborne Sequel

Hidetaka Miyazaki says that while he loves all his horrifying children very much, Bloodborne remains his favourite. In an interview with Gamespot Brazil, the acclaimed developer expressed his fondness for all things Yharnam, but said that a potential sequel isn’t in his control.

When asked which of his games was his favourite, Miyazaki said that "that is a very difficult question [...] it’s as if you have three or four children and someone asks ‘which one is the prettiest?’ I’ll answer that they all are. But if I were to say which one stayed in my heart, it’s Bloodborne. It is what most struck me. I believe I did it my way, the way I wanted it."

But despite his fondness for that particular child, Miyazaki says the creation of a little brother or sister is out of his control. When it comes to Bloodborne 2, he said that “unfortunately, I’m not the one to decide.”

That doesn’t mean that another trip to Yharnam is entirely off the table. Instead, it’s simply a result of the fact that Sony, not FromSoftware, owns the Bloodborne IP, meaning those sequel decisions are down to the publisher, not the developer. But with the PS5 now officially revealed, who knows what Sony might leverage to bring people to its new console?
