The Xbox E3 2019 briefing polished off the not-quite reveal of Project Scarlett with another (entirely CG) look at Halo Infinite.
The real news is that the game is coming at the end of 2020 and will be a launch title for the new console, in an effort to mimic the original Xbox/Halo team-up at the very origins of both.
It's a fairly chunky and undeniably great piece of CGI, for sure, but given that big Phil had opened this briefing by boasting about how many games Xbox was going to show... it felt a bit of a let-down that so many of the biggies were entirely cinematic teasers.
It's also presumably the case that this will still be launching on Xbox One but there was no mention of that, or how the Project Scarlett version would differ – which did seem a bit odd given that various Microsoft talking heads had just finished mouthing empty nothings about how amazingly powerful its new toy was (someone at the start claimed it had 4X times the performance of an Xbox One X).
Still, good to see the Chief again. Soon enough we'll know if he's still the same genetically-modified super-soldier he used to be.
