When Apex Legends surprise released in February, it was the first battle royale game to really make a noticeable dent in Fortnite's overwhelming dominance of the genre. A free-to-play game, its squad-based combat and slick movement options really captured the attention of players, and the game fast became a pretty big deal.
While the game right now only exists on PS4, Xbox One, and PC, it sounds like developer Respawn is at the very least thinking about the viability of a Switch port.
Drew McCoy, Project Lead on Apex Legends, appeared in a recent Q&A video for Wired, and if you skip to around 7:15 you'll see the quote that caught our attention.
"If Switch was coming, we would tell you and we would blast it across the world. We are hearing all the Switch players who say they want the game. I can't make any promises right now. We have a lot of things that we're working on, so stay tuned for anything in the future. But currently we don't have anything to announce."
While this is far from confirmation that a Switch port will ever happen, it also sure as heck doesn't sound like a firm no, which for me is enough to give me hope. If Doom and Wolfenstein can run on Switch, I'm sure there's a way to make Apex Legends work too. Please?
