In the past few Borderlands games, if you've played much co-op, you'll be aware that loot drops are a bit of a first come, first served affair, with legendary weapons being claimed by whoever can sprint over to them first. One shared pool of loot, and if you don't get the cool thing you need that's up to you and your friends to fight over. Well, apparently, Borderlands 3's loot system might be a little less fight-inducing.
According to a line spotted on the Borderlands 3 Epic Store page, loot collected will be specific to each player, so nobody has to miss out on any spoils of the fight.
Take down enemies and challenges as a team, but reap rewards that are yours alone – no one misses out on loot.
While this may reduce a little competition among friends, as someone a little slower than my friends at reacting I welcome the chance to actually play around with some of the game's coolest weapons. There's apparently over a billion, so getting to try more of them out works for me.
