Last week, we saw the very brief announcement via livestream that The Jackbox Party Pack 6 was on the way. The series, which focuses on party games playable using phones and other web enabled devices as controllers, got a name drop and confirmation it was in development, but no release window or announced games. That is, until a trailer released today.
Yes, Jackbox 6 is coming this Autumn, and one of the games included will be Trivia Murder Party 2. The original Trivia Murder Party is a Saw-like gameshow, where correct answers win you points, and incorrect answers put you into a losers bracket, trying to avoid drinking poison or do maths quickly to survive. Players who lose these minigames might just lose the ability to pick an answer if they cut off a finger, or they may end up as a ghost, still able to answer questions but having a significant disadvantage in the final round fighting to grab a host body and escape alive.
It's more light-hearted and comedic than my description may have made it sound, honest.
Trivia Murder Party 2 seems to be set in some horrific nightmare hotel, and will likely follow much of the same core trivia-and-torture formula.
We can likely expect five or six games total to be announced for the collection over the coming weeks. The game will likely release on PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Switch.
