During last night's Nintendo Direct presentation, it was announced that a port of Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice is coming to Nintendo Switch this spring. An official announcement has not been made regarding the developer behind the port, but Kotaku UK can report that developer QLOC is handling the Switch version.
QLOC is best known as the studio that ported Dark Souls Remastered to PS4 and Xbox One. The Switch port of that game was not handled by QLOC, but by Virtuous.
The port of Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice has been in development since early 2018, and prior to Microsoft's June 2018 acquisition of Hellblade's developer, Ninja Theory. While the acquisition did momentarily halt development on the port, it was a brief hiatus and had minimal impact.
The Switch port of Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice will not contain any new content, but it does support optional motion controls – in Focus Mode you'll be able to utilise these when looking for symbols hidden around the environment. It should come as no surprise that the Switch version will have reduced visual fidelity in comparison to previous versions thanks to the limitations of the hardware but, if QLOC's work on Dark Souls Remastered is anything to go by, this will be a quality port nonetheless of a quality game.
