PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds Hits PS4 in Early December

By Rich Stanton on at

Everyone's second-favourite battle royale game will soon be available on PS4. It looks like that fat Microsoft cheque bought Xbox a year's worth of exclusivity, because PUBG launches for PS4 on December 7. Pre-orders are now available, and are as gouge-y as you'd expect from the game that sells a Joker costume for £25(!).

“We’re excited to expand our PUBG service and introduce new communities to our Battle Royale game” said Changhan Kim, CEO of PUBG Corp, while counting a large stack of dollar bills and having his toes nibbled by goldfish shoals. “PlayStation has developed an amazing community of passionate gamers and we can’t wait to join them this holiday season.” Now fetch the ivory backscratcher, he didn't add.

Here's a trailer:

PUBG on PlayStation 4 will launch with three 'iconic' maps: Erangel, Miramar, and Sanhok. Hahahaha, iconic! Pre-orders get two exclusive items: Nathan Drake’s outfit from the Uncharted series and Ellie’s backpack from The Last of Us. The three different pre-order bundles are:

Looter’s Edition £24.99

  • Base Game

Survivor’s Edition £39.99

  • Base Game
  • Survivor Pass: Vikendi*
  • 2,300 G-Coin Pack
  • 20,000 BP

Champion’s Edition £49.99

  • Base Game
  • Survivor Pass: Vikendi*
  • 6,000 G-Coin Pack
  • 20,000 BP

Survivor Pass? What is this larceny? It's another season pass type dealio basically, that offers another levelling path with bonus items. As is the modern way, this will also be available on other platforms, but more information "will be revealed soon."
