A patch for Dynasty Warriors 9 releasing tomorrow allows players to take part in local split screen or online two player co-op.
Co-op online will support players branching off from each other and exploring the world in different areas, and it'll support play with both friends and strangers. Players will be able to download a demo version of the game which will allow them to play co-op with a friend for free, but will not allow them to play when not part of their friend's game. Players also won't earn achievements or trophies while playing this version.
The patch will be live across all regions and platforms tomorrow.
