Yesterday, we got news that 11pm BST tonight, we would be getting a new Nintendo Direct presentation. The 35 minute presentation was due to discuss upcoming Switch and 3DS games, and was suspected by many to contain news about Switch online subscriptions, already spawning a number of rumours about upcoming announcements.
However, Nintendo announced on Twitter that the Direct has been delayed, due to a large scale Japanese earthquake.
Due to the powerful earthquake in Hokkaido, Japan, we have decided to delay this week’s planned Nintendo Direct. We will provide a new time and date in the near future. Thank you for your understanding. pic.twitter.com/IITgJFtzub

The earthquake, in Hokkaido Japan, caused parts of a mountain to landslide, and has resulted in injuries, deaths, and missing persons reports.
Nintendo did not set a replacement date, but did promise a new date would be given in the near future.
