[Update - Via clarification from our sources, refunds will begin processing to customers within the next few days. Amounts of time taken for refunds to reach customers will vary by payment method, "30 days for card refunds, 3 days for Paypal, wallet refunds for mobile and voucher payments".]
On January 7th, Ubisoft's upcoming open world racing game The Crew 2 received a notable delay. The game was due to release on March 16th but was pushed back to the first half of Ubisoft's next financial year, which means sometime in the six months following April 2018. No specific date during that window was given for a release. This will hopefully lead to a better game, but swerving so close to the finishing line doesn't inspire confidence.
Multiple Sony sources have confirmed to us today that all The Crew 2 pre-orders on PSN are being auto-refunded due to the delayed and now-unclear release date. We've asked Microsoft and Steam whether their services will also be offering automated refunds, and will update if there's any response.
It's unclear at this time if the push for automated refunds came from Ubisoft or Sony. PSN customers can expect to receive their refunds over the next few days.
