Ninja Theory's stylish Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice is out tomorrow! It's been almost three years since the game, originally known simply as Hellblade, was announced—and, to celebrate, the team has released one final pre-launch developer diary.
Hellblade lives within the descriptively vague realm of the "action adventure", and appears to feature a pretty robust hack-and-slash-style core. However, it's the game's narrative focus that has garnered the most attention so far: Hellblade ambitiously attempts to tackle issues of mental health within its familiar action framework, charting both the physical and emotional struggles of Celtic warrior Senua as she journey into savage Viking heartland.
Ninja Theory's final pre-launch video offers a whistle-stop tour of Hellblade's creation, cramming three years of laughs, larks, highs, and lows into seven action-packed minutes—so if you haven't been keeping up with the previous 28 developer diaries, there's now a a much easier way to get suitably informed. It's particularly fascinating to see the creative technical solutions the team employed to get that gorgeous triple-A look in a game with an apparently modest budget.
Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice is out tomorrow on PlayStation 4 and PC, and we'll almost certainly have more on thoughts on the game following its long-awaited release into the world.
