Parkour-and-zombie-slaughterer Dying Light has been out for well over two years now, yet fan enthusiasm continues unabated. Over 500,000 players still log into Dying Light every week, and to celebrate its perennial popularity, developer Techland has pledged to support the game with another 12 months of free DLC.
More specifically, Dying Light's producer Tymon Smektala has announced that there will be 10 new content drops over the coming year, as you can see in the video below. These will include new enemies, new in-game events, new mysterious to solve, and "much, much more". All of this will be free for everyone on PC, PS4 and Xbox One. The first drop, known as DLC #0, is "coming soon".
Dying Light's continued popularity shouldn't come as too much of a surprise. Not only are the base game and expansion The Following a tonne of fun on their own, Techland has done much to keep the experience fresh since release, with a constant procession of new content and lighthearted in-game events. Dying Light's most recent event, for example, known as CARnage 2.0, saw players joining forces in a bid to "collectively blow up, burn and electrify 2 million zombies".
Techland's promise to continue supporting Dying Light for another year, says Smektala, is its way of saying 'thank you' to its dedicated community.
