Capcom has announced that Resident Evil 7's free Not a Hero DLC, previously scheduled to release this spring, has been delayed.
The delay was revealed by Resident Evil 7 producer Masachika Kawata and Koshi Nakanishi, the game's director, in a video posted to Capcom's official YouTube channel. According to Nakanishi, Not a Hero was close to completion but, "in the light of the incredible reception to the release of Resident Evil 7, we concluded that this DLC was not good enough to meet those high expectations. Our aim is for this content to match the high quality of the main game, so we need more development time in order to achieve that goal."
Not a Hero serves as a side story to events in Resident Evil 7, and will centre around a weird-faced reimagining of Chris Redfield (weird-faced enough to have inspired all manner of now-dispelled fan theories claiming that the character is, in fact, the series' mysterious, masked Hunk).
In further Resident Evil 7 news, the game's executive producer, Jun Takuchi, also pops up in the video to confirm that another piece of Resi DLC is in the works. Neither this nor the delayed Not a Hero DLC has been given a release date.
