Over the weekend a Nintendo guide book for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild was spotted on Amazon UK (though it has now been pulled) . It likely disappeared because it gave up details of the new Zelda that Nintendo hadn't yet got around to revealing itself.
For instance, as Eurogamer spotted, the game has "120 Shrine mini-dungeons, 900 Korok seed puzzles and 76 side quests [...] optional challenges, mini-games, unlockables, Easter eggs, and more."
The mini dungeons aren't each going to be on the scale of the Zelda game's famous temples but they can each be solved in multiple ways. Expect them to house tough enemies, great loot, and a fair few puzzles.
You may remember Korok as the wood folk in Wind Waker. In Breath of the Wild they're scattered about the land and each one asks that you help seed their forests. 900 of the blighters are to be found and completed across the game. Who at Nintendo HQ collected the hundred feathers scattered around Assassin's Creed 2's Italy and thought, I wish there were nine times more of the blighters?
I'm looking forward to getting stuck into Breath of the Wild but I may stop short of a full 100% completion rate.
