A Pokémon Music-Playing Philharmonic Orchestra is Coming to London

There's been a growing trend of game music getting the full philharmonic orchestra treatment. Just last week I was writing about how Dear Esther is finally getting a live performance, and last December Square's classic RPGs where handed over to a full orchestra. Well, this Christmas it is Pokémon that is getting philharmonic touch up.

Pokémon: Symphonic Evolutions is a touring performance of music from Pokémon Red, Blue, Yellow, Gold, Silver, and Crystal. You can hear some of their recreations online:

It certainly lends an air of majesty to the bleeps and bloops that came from the Game Boy.

Pokémon: Symphonic Evolutions is playing two nights in December – the 18th and 19th – at the London Apollo. You can sort out tickets here.

Another reason for considering going: I bet the Apollo is a Pokéstop in Pokémon GO.
