Final Fantasy XIV Adds a Bowie Tribute in Latest Update

Square Enix is really showing itself to be a big ol' bunch of David Bowie fans: not content with just giving away Omikron: The Nomad Soul last month in tribute to the late musician/entertainer/deity, Final Fantasy XIV now has a tribute to Bowie persona Ziggy Stardust in it.

As spotted over on Reddit, the Gears of Change update to Squenix's ever-changing MMO has added a boss and some minions to the Antitower dungeon: Ziggy and a few companions named Stardust.

Alright, it's not exactly subtle, but I can't say I care too much. In fact, it's almost enough to make me want to play the game. Almost.

Bowie passed away in January this year, aged 69, after an 18-month cancer battle. His influence on games and gaming culture cannot be understated, hence why we – and everyone else in games – is so keen to bring the man up so often.

I would like to request Firaxis add a Thin White Duke tribute via an XCOM 2 update. Just repurpose some Thin Man assets from the first game and you're sorted.
