Blizzard Bans More Than 100,000 World of Warcraft Accounts

Last night Blizzard issued more than 100,000 six-month bans to players running bot accounts.

"We’re committed to providing an equal and fair playing field for everyone in World of Warcraft, and will continue to take action against those found in violation of our Terms of Use," Blizzard community manager Lore writes. "Cheating of any form will not be tolerated."

A particularly popular script is the HonorBuddy bot. You can set it to run your account in PvP to simply skirt around the edges of the game and collect honour. It's so popular that you could come across games where everyone is running the bot:
