It's Friday, Why Not Play Some Super Mario 64 in Your Browser?

By Leon Hurley on at

Got a screen your boss can't see? You'll be fine then, just have a spreadsheet or something ready to pull up sharpish.

Developer Roystan Ross has recreated  Super Mario 64’s first level, Bob-Omb Battlefield, in Unity meaning you can play it your browser right now if you go here or here.

If that doesn't work you can try on of the downloadable version on his blog. He created this reworking of Super Mario purely to demonstrate his Super Character Controller, a ready made plug-in for Unity that deals with third-person character movement and controls in-game. "Everything is just as you remember," he says, "except some really minor stuff that nobody cared about like red coins or the Wing Cap or the Big Bob-omb. Replacing them are crowd-pleasers like giant springs and coin blocks."
