Did Kojima Tell Us MGSV's Release Date at The Game Awards?

By Ian Dransfield on at

Update: Or maybe it's just referring to chapter 22 of Herman Melville's sixth novel (Moby Dick - the name of the fake studio Kojima used to tease The Phantom Pain) - 'Merry Christmas'? That... actually makes a lot more sense. I bow down to Matt99J for pointing that out.

Did Hideo Kojima sneakily reveal the release date of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain over the weekend? Was he brazen enough to put it out there in front of us all to see? That's what some of the internet is speculating.

Kojima's T-shirt he was wearing as Metal Gear Online was revealed said 'tjugoandra den sjätte' on it, which translates from Swedish as 'twenty-second to the sixth' and has people all a-worked up - does it mean MGSV will be coming out June 22?

He's known for being silly, and The Phantom Pain's initial announcement was cloaked by the fake Swedish studio and all that nonsense, so it does fit that extended narrative...

Anyway, Metal Gear Online - the online bit of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain - comes with the main MGSV package at no extra cost, features a class system for its battles and will see characters you know and love (Venom Snake and Ocelot being the named ones) show up.

That's about all we know for now, because that's about all the info that's been released. But! Screenshots:
