Lord Inquisitor is a fan-made Warhammer 40K short film that promises to be a lot better than anything Games Workshop has managed officially.
Around this time last year, we showed you a couple of trailers for the project. This year, there have been some changes.
Inquisitor has switched from being something modelled and rendered using more traditional animation tools to a film that's being made using...CryEngine. Or at least a modified version of it.
Back in 2012, we told you about something called Cinebox, which was a version of CryEngine Crytek had made for use in animation. Fast forward to 2014 and this is one of the first things that's been made using it.
Impressive. Even more so when you consider that everything you're seeing is rendered in realtime. Think of it as being similar to Valve's Source Filmmaker, only you can make "can your PC run..." jokes every time you use this one.
