Bloodborne has had some details on what we can expect from it clarified, and it's sounding like everything Souls fans want it to be.
The details have been revealed in a post on the PlayStation Blog, with Japan Studio's Masaaki Yamagiwa tantalising us all with the info.
Bloodborne is an action-RPG, as you might have guessed, and "will transport players to a dark and terror-filled gothic world, a world full of deranged beings and nightmarish creatures".
Which you also might have guessed from the trailer.
The action itself takes its cues from Demon's Souls, with danger and strategy at the fore - but Bloodborne will have more of an emphasis on offensive combat, rather than the more defensive Demon's Souls.
Players are forced to navigate the streets of Yharnam on a pilgrimage, seeking the help of an old medical remedy. But you're not just looking for medicine, obviously: in Bloodborne you have to take on all manner of horrifying beasties and other slightly-less-beastie people-beasties.
And, of course with it being a PS4 game, Bloodborne looks the part (check out the screens on this page!) - new lighting and increased draw distance being just two ways things look more grotesque and brilliant than ever before.
There's even a special message from Bloodborne's director, Hidetaka Miyazaki:
“Creating Bloodborne as a completely new game on the new PlayStation 4 hardware has allowed us to really push the envelope in myriad ways. That being said, in more ways than one, it also very much retains our distinct, signature style. As has been at the core of our development philosophy since Demon’s Souls, we make true games for people who love games. Please watch for more to come on Bloodborne, and thank you very much for your support.”
And if we think too hard about the tease of 'new ways of playing and sharing', we're liable to pop. We. Cannot. Wait.
