Ubisoft Prepares to Unleash the Absolute Pinnacle of Tetris

In June of 1984, Alexey Pajitnov created Tetris, one of the most popular video games of all time. Three decades later, Ubisoft announces Tetris Ultimate — the final game in the series, unless I am applying an irresponsibly erroneous definition to the word "ultimate".

Coming to current generation consoles this summer and PC later in the year, Tetris Ultimate needs to surpass every Tetris game that's come before in order to live up to its name. Is that even possible? Can four-players and six game modes — Marathon, Battle, Power-Up Battle, Ultra, Endless and Spirit — truly be the maximum;decisive;conclusive entry in the classic series? Should I stop visiting Dictionary.com and relax?

Ubisoft Prepares To Unleash The Absolute Pinnacle Of Tetris

Alexy Pajitnov will be at E3 2014 with Ubisoft next week, showing off Tetris Ultimate to the assembled gaming press. Only then will we know if this really is the Tetris game mentioned in Revelations.
