"In order to regain trust I think it was very important that Square Enix admitted the game did fail", admits producer Naoki Yoshida to Gamasutra in a surprisingly frank interview. Among the key points he singled out behind the original MMO's failure were, "an unhealthy obsession with graphical quality, a surprising lack of MMORPG knowledge among development team members and the mindeset that the solution to every problem could be patched in a later update".
