A few months ago, shortly after Gamescom 2018, the world got its first in-depth look at Cyberpunk 2077, CD Projekt Red's upcoming first person open world game about mechanical augmentation and techno future hackers. Since then, people have been clamouring for more news about the game, with many hoping it would show up in some form at The Game Awards.
While The Game Awards is primarily a gaming award show, every year the livestreamed event features announcements, reveals, and new footage of games from various developers. While some had been hoping Cyberpunk 2077 would get some air time during the show, a tweet from CD Projekt Red's community lead, Marcin Momot, confirms that the studio has nothing to show off during the show.
We're looking forward to seeing all the reveals and announcements during this year's @thegameawards, however we're not going to be showing anything there ourselves. We’ll share more details about @cyberpunkgame when we’re ready.

While we won't be seeing Cyberpunk 2077 during the event – which begins Saturday morning at 1:30am UK – we expect to see some new Death Stranding footage due to Kojima's friendly relationship with the event, and we've been told that there will be reveals of 10 new unannounced titles during the show. You can watch the livestreamed awards show, if you don't fall asleep too early, here.
