King K. Rool Just Got Announced as Playable in Smash Bros. Ultimate

By Laura Kate Dale on at

As the closing announcement of today's Smash Bros. Ultimate Nintendo Direct, we got the announcement that King K. Rool, the reptilian villain from the Donkey Kong series, will be available as a playable fighter when the game releases at the end of this year.

The character's reveal trailer, which we will add to this post as soon as it is available, was pretty short, and showed very little gameplay. As a result of this, and the fact we didn't get a post trailer run down from Sakurai, we currently don't know much about how the character will fight. We do know that like Donkey Kong, he has an attack which can hit an enemy down into the ground, temporarily immobilising them.

Smash Bros. Ultimate Releases on Switch on December 7th 2018. If you missed the Direct, go read about all of the other new announcements made for Smash right here.
