Last year's Tekken world tour finals included the announcement of a surprise guest character: Final Fantasy XV's Noctis, the crown prince of emo. Guest stars seem to be the 'in' thing for fighting games at the moment, what with Injustice 2 getting the ninja turtles and a new Smash Bros. on the way (Viewtiful Joe Sakurai pls). Tekken 3 veterans, those who have seen the blessed Gon, know that tie-ins are nothing new to Bandai-Namco's series.
The DLC had a vague spring release date, and today an industry source has confirmed to Kotaku UK that Noctis will hit Tekken 7 on March 20. A week today! If you want to see what he'll look like, here's the original trailer.
Those Final Fantasy lads do get about, don't they? Noctis Lucis Caelum, to give his full title, will be wielding what is described as "his signature engine blade" and is ready to "deal heavy hard-hitting blows" to assorted bears, robots, and blokes in cat masks. He looks cool! Will it be enough to tempt you back to the king of iron fist tournament? Some folk, of course, are never happy.

Updated on 14/3/18: Bandai-Namco has confirmed the release date. The official blurb includes this description of the DLC's full contents, and way too many capital letters:
In TEKKEN 7 – DLC3: NOCTIS LUCIS CAELUM PACK, players will be able to experience a new level of combat as they warp around the enemy while invoking Armiger, the power of kings! This pack includes Noctis Lucis Caelum as a playable character, the exclusive stage "HAMMERHEAD," as well as the BGM "Stand Your Ground / FINAL FANTASY XV," the BGM "APOCALYPSIS NOCTIS Remix / TEKKEN 7," and five Noctis costumes! Noctis Lucis Caelum is also playable in DLC1's "Ultimate TEKKEN BOWL."
