In Prison Architect, the main gameplay loop involves building prisons tough enough that prisoners can't escape, but since 2015 Escape Mode flipped that on its head and tasked players with breaking out. This mode has so far been absent from the Xbox One and PS4 ports of the game — the team handling the port didn't consider it a core part of the game. That's about to change, as Escape Mode is finally making its way to consoles.
There's some good news and some bad news. The bad news is that Escape Mode won't be available on consoles until next summer, and it'll be paid DLC unlike the PC version. The good news, however, is that it'll feature unique content not found in the current PC mode. Gameplay will be reworked and additional content added, which sounds like this is more than just a standard port.
While you've got a while to wait for the mode, at least you now know it's coming.
