These Steam Games Are Raising Money for War Child

By Laura Kate Dale on at

If you're in the mood to play some games that contain combat mechanics, but allow you to opt out of violence, the War Child UK Armistice Bundle might be of interest. Until Monday November 13th the bundle of five games is available at a hefty discount and a portion of profits goes to War Child UK, a charity that works in 15 countries across the world to protect and help support children caught up in war and other conflicts.

The bundle includes Styx: Shards of Darkness, Styx: Master of Shadows, This War of Mine, Democracy 3, and Verdun for £57.11, with each game giving a percentage of their money to the charity. The games can also be bought separately, with Cliff Harris's Democracy 3 donating 100% of profits — last year we spoke to him about War Child's work.

Over the weekend of November 11th, a number of non violent gameplay armistice events will be taking place, which we will be reporting on next week. Last year's fundraiser brought in more than £100,000 for the charity.
