As successful as the Switch has been for Nintendo this year, exceeding the company's own internal sales forecasts for year one, the system's success seems to have also caught third party publishers by surprise. Speaking at a financial results briefing, and translated by the Wall Street Journal, Bandai Namco president Mitsuaki Taguchi expressed a desire to put more development resources behind the Switch as a response to the success of the system.
We have put 3 games on the Switch so far and all of them are doing well. It’s a shame, but we didn’t think the Switch [would] be accepted this fast.
On top of that, Taguchi revealed that the company plans to reveal three new Switch exclusive worldwide release titles during Spring and Summer of 2018, but release windows for those titles were not given.
Bandai Namco really seems to be on board with Nintendo's new hybrid console, which is nothing but good news. I'm personally hoping to get Dark Souls ports for the system, as I'd love to take those games on the road when commuting.
