Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice is one of the greatest games I've played this year, even though the impression it left wasn't quite what I expected. Developer Ninja Theory has today released what it calls "a very different kind of accolades trailer." It's formed from player screenshots taken in photo mode, and messages received by the studio as opposed to press quotes.
The images people have created in photo mode really are something else, and the main reason to watch this. Some of the quotations do seem a little self-aggrandising to reproduce, but then it's called an accolades trailer so fair enough. If you ask me, Hellblade deserves all the praise it gets and then some.
There's no better time to give it a shot, either. This is from Ninja Theory's press release:
In addition, we are today announcing that all proceeds received by Ninja Theory from the sale of Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice on World Mental Health Day (October 10th) will be donated to mental health charity Rethink Mental Illness.
Rethink Mental Illness exists to support and campaign for those severely affected by mental illness. They help millions of people affected by mental illness by challenging attitudes and changing lives. We are delighted to be supporting this important work with this donation.
