The new September update for PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds is finally up on live game servers, and with it comes a pretty hefty changelog. A lot of it is minor tweaks, but there are a few interesting additions.
The September update adds a foggy weather condition, which gives me hope of hiding and not being murdered at the very start of every round. There's also a 5.56mm mini-14 weapon, a new town called East of Stalber, and the Tommy Gun has changed from care packages to a world spawn item.
You can also now see if a teammate is crouched or prone in the UI, quickly mark your map position without opening the map, and even change the colour of your crosshairs.
Lastly, and this is particularly important, changes have been made to prevent AFK players from earning BP (battle points). Over the past few weeks, AFK bots have been a present part of a pretty high number of matches I've taken part in, so it's good to see that being fixed.
From now onwards, updates to PUBG will cease to be monthly, releasing as and when the dev team feel they are ready. If you want to see all the nitty gritty details, you can see the full patch notes here.
