Xbox Live Indie Games, the service that brought such classics as Baby Maker Extreme and Flappy Avatar to the Xbox 360, finally ends this month. Around two years ago, on September 9th 2015, developers were given a year to finish developing any games they were working on, and customers were given two years warning that the service would be closing.
It's September 7th, two years later, so two days from now the ability to purchase games from the service is expected to go away for good. We've asked Microsoft to confirm the precise cutoff point, and will update this post with any reply.
There's an awful lot of trash on XBLIG, but there really are some gems. Games like Bleed, Cthullu Saves the World, DLC Quest, Groov and Mount Your Friends are all cool ideas and, if you want to take a look, you've only got a short window left to download them.
