Never work with children or animals, goes the old showbiz line, but Electronic Arts has no time for such wisdom. To introduce the upcoming Sims 4 expansion Cats & Dogs, it decided to have the product 'announced' by a dog. My favourite response to this, as the chat melted down, was "who puts clothes on a dog?"
The most amazing aspect was that the two human beings that were also on the stage had to pretend they were having a conversation with the dog. To be fair to the animal, it didn't defecate and seemed remarkably obedient. But who puts clothes on a dog?
The Sims 4: Cats & Dogs arrives on November 10th and add cats, dogs and the profession of vet to the game. Wait... this is what the dog wants me to do!
Of course, it doesn't want anything. It's just a dog. But it probably got some extra nice dog food when the owner banked EA's cheque. So overall I guess the dog does win?
Players can "experience the cuddly companionship and delightful surprises cats and dogs will bring into their Sims' daily lives" it says here. I'm just finding it very confusing atm. Basically, you can give up on relationships with people and just hoard animals. The dog on the stage posed for a photograph at the end of the 'conversation.' Does it know what a camera is? Does it hell, it's a dog.
I felt like I shouldn't post the trailer, because the dog would somehow win. But I'm not going to be told how to live my life by a dog, here's the trailer.
Hahahaha, suck it Fido. The expansion also adds an area titled Brindleton Bay, where Sims can "play fetch near the harbour docks, take a walk to the lighthouse, visit a park to set up an obstacle course, meet other pet-loving locals, and even find stray pets that Sims can take in as their own." Hold on... the dog's magic worked. The moneymen are laughing. What's happening. The dog wins. The dog does win.
