Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia is a remake of 1992 title Fire Emblem Gaiden. Let’s see how the new 3DS version compares to the Famicom one.
The original game, the second in the Fire Emblem series, never got an international release.

Slightly less blue and green hair, it seems! Fewer lantern jaws, too. However, the updated art does keep distinctive features of the characters but in a contemporary fashion. It’s interesting to note the big—and subtle—differences.
Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia was released on April 20 in Japan as Fire Emblem Echoes: Mou Hitori no Eiyuu Ou, which translates as Fire Emblem Echoes: Another Hero King). The game has a different subtitle for its upcoming North American and European release on May 19th.
