Criterion's Extreme Racing Game Has Been Cancelled

Criterion - the British studio behind Burnout, owned by EA since 2004 - is no longer working on the extreme-sports racing game teased at E3 two years ago, Eurogamer reports.

Instead, the studio has been put to work on EA's forthcoming Star Wars Battlefront "VR experiences", says an EA spokesperson, and has been contributing to games from other EA studios, including last year's Battlefront.

Criterion's new game was to go beyond cars, featuring helicopters, boats, ATVs, wing suits, and a lot of adrenaline. Here's the teaser from E3 2014, which is all we ever saw of it:
