Netflix FINALLY Arrives on the... Nintendo Entertainment System

By Leon Hurley on at

This is an actual thing, not a joke: this year's annual Netflix Hack Day saw a trio of engineers get Netflix up and running on a NES.

Netflix engineers Guy Cirino, Alex Wolfe, and Carenina Motion got the streaming service running on a Nintendo Entertainment System, including menus and a gloriously low-res stream of the new season of House Of Cards. Guy describes it as "running in all its 2-bit glory," adding that "it's really hard to do on a 256K cart."
