Oh teaser trailers, you're always such a risk. The first showing of We Happy Few makes me think of The Prisoner Meets Bioshock, but who knows what we'll actually get.
We Happy Few is the next game from Compulsion, which was behind the fairly average Contrast (I liked the idea but the execution felt a little stiff). This new thing is an alt-history game about drugs and an oddly oppressive regime. Here's the pitch from the site:
"We Happy Few is the tale of a plucky bunch of moderately terrible people trying to escape from a lifetime of cheerful denial. Set in a drug-fuelled, retrofuturistic city in an alternative 1960s England, you’ll have to blend in with its other inhabitants, who don’t take kindly to people who don’t abide by their not-so-normal rules."
We won't have long to find out what the game actually is either, as Compulsion will be "showing what we have so far" at PAX East, starting March 6th. So, watch the trailer and see what you think.
